Dear Active Resource,
It's not that I hate you or anything, but you didn't get much attention lately. There're so many alternatives out there, and I think people have made their choice to use them than you. I think it's time for you to have a big rest, peacefully in this Git repository.
I will miss you,
@sikachu.

PATCH is the correct HTML verb to map to the #update action. The
semantics for PATCH allows for partial updates, whereas PUT requires a
complete replacement.
Changes:
* adds config.default_method_for_update you can set to :patch
* optionally use PATCH instead of PUT in resource routes and forms
* adds the #patch verb to routes to detect PATCH requests
* adds #patch? to Request
* changes documentation and comments to indicate support for PATCH
This change maintains complete backwards compatibility by keeping :put
as the default for config.default_method_for_update.

After a long list of discussion about the performance problem from using varargs and the reason that we can't find a great pair for it, it would be best to remove support for it for now.
It will come back if we can find a good pair for it. For now, Bon Voyage, `#among?`.

There're a lot of places in Rails source code which make a lot of sense to switching to Object#in? or Object#either? instead of using [].include?.

Previously, ActiveResource was using the connection level formatter for get requests. This made it impossible to use custom formatters per resource.
Additionally this commit makes the Connection request methods more consistent. It always returns a Response. The base will then decode it each the response using its format setting.
Merging this commit will allow users to add custom formatters on a per Resource basis. This enables handling pagination responses from the server side, a very common use case that was previously impossible without monkeypatching XmlFormat.

More work still needs to be done on some of these names
(render_template.action_view and render_template!.action_view particularly)
but this allows (for example) /^sql/ to subscribe to all
the various ORMs without further modification

the internal Net::HTTP instance ARes uses (default is 60 seconds). Setting a low timeout allows ARes clients to fail-fast in the event of a unresponsive/crashed server, rather than cause cascading failures in your application.
