The `app:update` rake task will regenerate `development.rb` so that it
contains this option; that means we're currently adding it to existing
apps in two places, which is unnecessary and confusing.
Also:
- Remove inaccurate comment about which stack frames are ignored
- Clarify that the feature uses `caller_locations`, not `caller`
- Remove unused return value in `extract_callstack`

Remove default ENGINE=InnoDB for Mysql2 adapter

Before this commit ENGINE=InnoDB was added by default to Mysql2 adapter
+create_table+ if no +options+ option was provided. This default ENGINE
was lost as soon as something was passed in at +options+ option, making
its goal and propagation inconsistent, as the programmer needed to
remember including ENGINE=InnoDB when something was passed in.
This commit removes default ENGINE as its use isn't needed anymore for
current MySQL and MariaDB versions. It adds compatibility support and
tests to ensure that default ENGINE is still present for migrations
with version 5.1 and before. It also ensures we still dump the ENGINE
option to +schema.rb+ in order to avoid inconsistencies.

Currently `count(:all)` with `distinct` doesn't work correctly because
SELECT list is always replaced to `*` or primary key in that case even
if having custom SELECT list.
And also, PostgreSQL has a limitation that ORDER BY expressions must
appear in select list for SELECT DISTINCT.
Therefore, we should not replace custom SELECT list when using
`count(:all)` with `distinct`.

Arel doesn't support subselect generation for DELETE unlike UPDATE yet,
but we already have that generation in connection adapters. We can
simply use the subselect generated by that one.

`offset`
Most RDBMS (except SQLite) requires subselect for UPDATE with OFFSET,
but Arel doesn't support executable subselect generation for MySQL's
UPDATE yet. We need to use the subselect generated by the connection
adapter for now, it works well.

Undefine attribute methods of descendants when resetting column information

If we don't do this, then we end up with an inconsistent situation where
a parent class may e.g. reset column information, but child classes will
contine to see attribute methods as already generated, and thus not pick
up this new column (falling through to method_missing).

Previously table name qualified `*` is used in that case. If it is not

This new ActiveRecord configuration option allows you to easily
pinpoint what line of application code is triggering SQL queries in the
development log by appending below each SQL statement log the line of
Ruby code that triggered it.
It’s useful with N+1 issues, and to locate stray queries.
By default this new option ignores Rails and Ruby code in order to
surface only callers from your application Ruby code or your gems.
It is enabled on newly generated Rails 5.2 applications and can be
enabled on existing Rails applications:
```ruby
Rails.application.configure do
# ...
config.active_record.verbose_query_logs = true
end
```
The `rails app:upgrade` task will also add it to
`config/development.rb`.
This feature purposely avoids coupling with
ActiveSupport::BacktraceCleaner since ActiveRecord can be used without
ActiveRecord. This decision can be reverted in the future to allow more
configurable backtraces (the exclusion of gem callers for example).

`BigDecimal.new` has been deprecated in BigDecimal 1.3.3
which will be a default for Ruby 2.5.
Refer https://github.com/ruby/bigdecimal/commit/533737338db915b00dc7168c3602e4b462b23503
```
$ cd rails/activerecord/
$ git grep -l BigDecimal.new | grep \.rb | xargs sed -i -e "s/BigDecimal.new/BigDecimal/g"
```
- Changes made only to Active Record. Will apply the same change to
other module once this commit is merged.
- The following deprecation has not been addressed because it has been
reported at `ActiveRecord::Result.new`. `ActiveRecord::Result.ancestors`
did not show `BigDecimal`.
* Not addressed
```ruby
/path/to/rails/activerecord/lib/active_record/connection_adapters/mysql/database_statements.rb:34:
warning: BigDecimal.new is deprecated
```
* database_statements.rb:34
```ruby
Otherwise `subclass_from_attributes` can't detect subclass which is had
in scope attributes.
Currently, sanitize methods are private. So need `send` to use from
outside class.
However, sometimes want to use sanitize methods from outside Class when
want to generate SQL including multiple tables like search.
In order to avoid using `send` in such a case, changed methods to public.
- #30980 introcuded a change to not use `Arel.star` when model have ignored columns, a query used to look like `SELECT *. FROM developers` whereas now it would like `SELECT column1, column2 FROM developers`
- If a column has the same name has a reserved database specific keyword (such as key, where ...) then the query would fail because the names aren't quoted
- Quoting almost always happen unless we use a `from` clause in the query https://github.com/rails/rails/blob/9965b98dc0d58a86e10b4343bb6e15e01661a8c3/activerecord/lib/active_record/relation/query_methods.rb#L1052
- This PR cast all columns name to symbols in order for the quoting logic to be picked up https://github.com/rails/rails/blob/9965b98dc0d58a86e10b4343bb6e15e01661a8c3/activerecord/lib/active_record/relation/query_methods.rb#L1054-L1055
`connection.primary_key` also return composite primary keys, so
`from_primary_key_column` may not be found even if `from_primary_key` is
presented.
This regression was caused at 213796fb due to polymorphic predicates are
combined by `Arel::Nodes::And`. But I'd like to keep that combined
because it would help inverting polymorphic predicates correctly
(e9ba12f7), and we can collect equality nodes regardless of combined by
`Arel::Nodes::And` (`a AND (b AND c) AND d` == `a AND b AND c AND d`).
This change fixes the regression to collect equality nodes in
`Arel::Nodes::And` as well.
Fix sqlite migrations with custom primary keys
| | | | | | | | | |
Previously, if a record was created with a custom primary key, that
table could not be migrated using sqlite. While attempting to copy the
table, the type of the primary key was ignored.
Once that was corrected, copying the indexes would fail because custom
primary keys are autoindexed by sqlite by default.
To correct that, this skips copying the index if the index name begins
with "sqlite_". This is a reserved word that indicates that the
index is an internal schema object. SQLite prohibits applications from
creating objects whose names begin with "sqlite_", so this string should
be safe to use as a check.
This is a regression since Rails 4.2.
SQLite3 integer is stored in 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 bytes depending on the
magnitude of the value. Assuming default valid value as 4 bytes caused
that actual valid value in INTEGER storage class cannot be stored and
existing value cannot be found.
https://www.sqlite.org/datatype3.html
We should allow valid value in INTEGER storage class in SQLite3 to fix
the regression.
Actually SQLite3 doesn't have JSON storage class (so it is stored as a
TEXT like Date and Time). But emulating JSON types is convinient for
making database agnostic migrations.
Add support for specifying non-default operator classes in PostgreSQL
indexes. An example CREATE INDEX query that becomes possible is:
CREATE INDEX users_name ON users USING gist (name gist_trgm_ops);
Previously it was possible to specify the `gist` index but not the
custom operator class. The `add_index` call for the above query is:
add_index :users, :name, using: :gist, opclasses: {name: :gist_trgm_ops}
In 35836019, class level `update` and `destroy` suppressed
`RecordNotFound` to ensure returning affected objects. But
`RecordNotFound` is a common exception caught by a `rescue_from`
handler. So changing the behavior when a typical `params[:id]` is passed
has a compatibility problem. The previous behavior should not be
changed.
