* | | | | | | | | Deprecate `valid_alter_table_type?` in sqlite3 adapterRyuta Kamizono2018-01-041-7/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This method which is used only in the internal was introduced in ac384820 and was renamed in #17579. It does not need to be exposed.
* | | | | | | | | Correctly handle infinity value in PostgreSQL range typeyuuji.yaginuma2018-01-042-2/+10

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Problem: Calling `count` on an association can cause invalid SQL queries to be created where the `SELECT COUNT(a, b, c)` function receives multiple columns. This will cause a `StatementInvalid` exception later on. Solution: Use `count(:all)`, which generates a `SELECT COUNT(*)...` query independently of the association. This also includes a test case that, before the fix, broke.

And also, PostgreSQL has a limitation that ORDER BY expressions must appear in select list for SELECT DISTINCT. Therefore, we should not replace existing SELECT list when using DISTINCT. Fixes #29779.

| * | | | | | | | | | Remove default ENGINE=InnoDB for Mysql2 adapterAlberto Almagro2017-12-112-1/+9

This default ENGINE was lost as soon as something was passed in at +options+ option, making its goal and propagation inconsistent, as the programmer needed to remember including ENGINE=InnoDB when something was passed in. This commit removes default ENGINE as its use isn't needed anymore for current MySQL and MariaDB versions. It adds compatibility support and tests to ensure that default ENGINE is still present for migrations with version 5.1 and before. It also ensures we still dump the ENGINE option to +schema.rb+ in order to avoid inconsistencies.
* | | | | | | | | | | Fix `count(:all)` to correctly work `distinct` with custom SELECT listRyuta Kamizono2017-12-201-10/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently `count(:all)` with `distinct` doesn't work correctly because SELECT list is always replaced to `*` or primary key in that case even if having custom SELECT list. And also, PostgreSQL has a limitation that ORDER BY expressions must appear in select list for SELECT DISTINCT. Therefore, we should not replace custom SELECT list when using `count(:all)` with `distinct`. Closes #31277.

It’s useful with N+1 issues, and to locate stray queries. By default this new option ignores Rails and Ruby code in order to surface only callers from your application Ruby code or your gems. It is enabled on newly generated Rails 5.2 applications and can be enabled on existing Rails applications: ```ruby Rails.application.configure do # ... config.active_record.verbose_query_logs = true end ``` The `rails app:upgrade` task will also add it to `config/development.rb`. This feature purposely avoids coupling with ActiveSupport::BacktraceCleaner since ActiveRecord can be used without ActiveRecord. This decision can be reverted in the future to allow more configurable backtraces (the exclusion of gem callers for example).

So need `send` to use from outside class. However, sometimes want to use sanitize methods from outside Class when want to generate SQL including multiple tables like search. In order to avoid using `send` in such a case, changed methods to public.

FROM developers` whereas now it would like `SELECT column1, column2 FROM developers` - If a column has the same name has a reserved database specific keyword (such as key, where ...) then the query would fail because the names aren't quoted - Quoting almost always happen unless we use a `from` clause in the query https://github.com/rails/rails/blob/9965b98dc0d58a86e10b4343bb6e15e01661a8c3/activerecord/lib/active_record/relation/query_methods.rb#L1052 - This PR cast all columns name to symbols in order for the quoting logic to be picked up https://github.com/rails/rails/blob/9965b98dc0d58a86e10b4343bb6e15e01661a8c3/activerecord/lib/active_record/relation/query_methods.rb#L1054-L1055 - A reproduction script can be found here https://gist.github.com/Edouard-chin/f56d464a0adcb76962afc1a9134a1536

* | | | | | | | | | Fix `scope_for_create` to do not lose polymorphic associationsRyuta Kamizono2017-12-081-2/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This regression was caused at 213796fb due to polymorphic predicates are combined by `Arel::Nodes::And`. But I'd like to keep that combined because it would help inverting polymorphic predicates correctly (e9ba12f7), and we can collect equality nodes regardless of combined by `Arel::Nodes::And` (`a AND (b AND c) AND d` == `a AND b AND c AND d`). This change fixes the regression to collect equality nodes in `Arel::Nodes::And` as well. Fixes #31338.
