From d5ad2037455a03261d680d143257ba253d8a7112 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jeremy Kemper Date: Sat, 30 Aug 2014 09:32:50 -0700 Subject: MySQL: set connection collation along with the charset Sets the connection collation to the database collation configured in database.yml. Otherwise, `SET NAMES utf8mb4` will use the default collation for that charset (utf8mb4_general_ci) when you may have chosen a different collation, like utf8mb4_unicode_ci. This only applies to literal string comparisons, not column values, so it is unlikely to affect you. --- activerecord/test/config.example.yml | 2 ++ 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+) (limited to 'activerecord/test/config.example.yml') diff --git a/activerecord/test/config.example.yml b/activerecord/test/config.example.yml index a54914c372..ce30cff9e7 100644 --- a/activerecord/test/config.example.yml +++ b/activerecord/test/config.example.yml @@ -55,6 +55,7 @@ connections: arunit: username: rails encoding: utf8 + collation: utf8_unicode_ci arunit2: username: rails encoding: utf8 @@ -63,6 +64,7 @@ connections: arunit: username: rails encoding: utf8 + collation: utf8_unicode_ci arunit2: username: rails encoding: utf8 -- cgit v1.2.3
